24 Apr 2013 : BMW Performance Center, BMW North America and MINI USA to Provide all Staff and Media Vehicles
The 2013 Tire Rack One Lap of America Presented by Grassroots Motorsports Magazine is excited to announce the involvement of the BMW Performance Center, BMW of North America and MINI USA. BMW has a history of providing our event with comfortable and reliable vehicles that ensure our ability to run a national event and to celebrate our 30th anniversary they have stepped up their involvement. To showcase the performance and reliability of the brand the BMW Performance Center has entered the 2013 M6 to be driven by long-time One Lap veteran Mike Renner. BMW Performance is also providing a slew of 5 Series and Sport Activity Vehicles to be used by our staff to circle the country. MINI USA will be providing our event photographer, Steve Rossini, with the new MINI Paceman to document the action as well as provide content for Roundel Magazine. BMW North America is also providing a special X5 M Sport to be used as the Official Media Vehicle. We are proud to be affiliated of the world class marquis that is BMW. Their proven balance of comfort and sport has won countless motorsport titles and makes all the sense in the world why the Tire Rack One Lap of America choses BMW as the official vehicle.Important Announcement!
In addition to helmets, driversuits, fire extinguishers, etc, all drivers competing in track events will be wearing approved head and neck restraints. Hybrid or Hans-type head and neck restraints will be employed as appropriate for the entered car's seatbelt type. No donut or horseshoe collars!
